Stitchers

The Stitchers group meets throughout the year and is open to women and men of any denomination. The group welcomes anyone who wishes to use their creative gifts while enjoying upbeat conversations in a fun, relaxing environment. Stitchers knit, crochet or embroider projects via hand stitching or machine and donate them to those in need.

Stitching is held on Wednesdays from 10:30 a.m. - noon in number one meeting room in the church’s basement, and participants are encouraged to come and go at the times most convenient for them. Stitchers also can work on projects at home.

Stitcher projects have included making church kneeler covers; winter hats and scarves for men, women and children; helmet liners for soldiers in the military; winter hats for the homeless and cancer patients; prayer shawls; baby blankets; lap robes; and bed coverings for veterans.

They donate items to nonprofits such as assisted living facilities, TryLife Center and the VA in Aspinwall.

The group welcomes new participants who wish to learn how to knit, crochet, or embroider. Yarn donations are always gratefully accepted.

There’s no commitment to weekly attendance, and people are encouraged to participate when their schedules permit.

For more information, to participate or make a yarn donation, contact Dee Miller through the church office at 724-335-0559 or office@bethesdalutheran.comcastbiz.net.
